Oban overview

Oban Travel Guide
The quaint town of Oban in the west of Scotland on the edge of the Scottish Highlands is known for its top-notch kayaking and delicious seafood. It is also famed for its single malt whisky, Oban, which is one of the tastiest in the extensive collection of Scottish single malts, for those who know their whiskies. The town itself sits on the coast at the mouth of Loch Linnhe and is nice to be in as it warps around the coast and has the look and feel of a traditional fishing village. There are plenty of interesting attractions around and about, including a load of castles, the Oban Distillery and the Scottish Sealife Sanctuary. There is also a murder mystery walking trail and you could even take a daytrip to Fort William and climb Ben Nevis. Oban is accessible by road, boat, train and seaplane.
